Soft and light with a wonderful bounce, this single ply, woollen-spun laceweight from Garthenor is made from certified organic, British Shetland fleeces. With a slightly rustic nature, it blooms and opens with blocking, making it particularly suited to lace and fine garments. It can also be held double to create a lofty fingering-weight.
Woollenflower yarns are dyed with plants collected around Glasgow, food waste and sustainably-produced raw plant material and dye extracts; these shades are light-fast but, like all natural dyes, may change and develop over time, a quality valued by many cultures.
These particular shades were dyed with madder and are fresh, clear salmon-corals.
Fibre sourced and spun in Britain. Please note that some batches of Garthenor Shetland 1 contain stronger fibres- this is the case for the darkest shade in this group.
