Soft and light with a wonderful bounce, this single ply, woollen-spun laceweight from Garthenor is made from certified organic, British Shetland fleeces. With a slightly rustic nature, it blooms and opens with blocking, making it particularly suited to lace and fine garments. It can also be held double to create a lofty fingering-weight.
Woollenflower yarns are dyed with plants collected around Glasgow, food waste and sustainably-produced raw plant material and dye extracts; these shades are light-fast but, like all natural dyes, may change and develop over time, a quality valued by many cultures.
These particular shades were dyed with indigo and are clear, deep blues. Due to the nature of dyeing with indigo, all shades have some variation in colour.
Fibre sourced and spun in Britain. Please note that one particular batch of Shetland 1 contained stronger fibres- the middle shade in this group belongs to that batch.
